Liu, an experienced executive, joins Wynn Resorts

 Paul Liu, a seasoned executive, has been appointed to Wynn Resorts' board of directors.

 Liu is an independent director with background in financial services, entertainment, and hospitality in Asia Pacific and China.

 During his career, Liu worked for 11 years as a partner with Egon Zehnder, a worldwide leadership consulting firm.

 Liu previously served as the chief operations officer of Anschutz Entertainment Group China, a massive entertainment company.  Additionally, he established Three On The Bund, a luxury lifestyle resort in Shanghai.

 In addition, he served as managing director of Bank of America (Asia), executive director of CIMIC Holdings, and assistant vice-president of Union Bank of Switzerland.

 According to a Wynn Resorts spokesperson, "Liu's experience and viewpoint on crafting guest experiences in the luxury and hospitality sectors, along with his distinct grasp of business talent in the Asia Pacific market, will be a significant contribution to the company."  "He will provide the Wynn board of directors with a valuable viewpoint."

 In the Asia-Pacific area, Wynn Resorts runs the Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace Cotai hotels.

 Development of Wynn Resorts' new casino in the United Arab Emirates
 Wynn released an update on a planned integrated casino resort in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) earlier this year. 

 The Wynn Al Marjan Island, Wynn's first property in the Middle East and North Africa, is scheduled to open in 2027.  A hotel, dining and lounge options, a gaming area, a spa, and other entertainment amenities are all part of the original plan.

 Wynn is working with regional partners RAK Hospitality Holding and Marjan to create the new resort.

 Thomas Schoen was named president of the new integrated resort by Wynn in May.  Schoen, a seasoned hospitality executive, will be in charge of the new resort's whole operations.

 The company will give the market an update on its first-half and second-quarter results tomorrow, August 9.

 The markets are especially keeping an eye on how it performs in Las Vegas, where companies like MGM Resorts and Caesars Entertainment have reported slow or stagnant growth.  In contrast, Wynn Macau, its Asian subsidiary, is anticipated to exhibit robust development as the region recovers.
