In February, Massachusetts sports betting volume falls to an eight-month low.

 While Massachusetts was able to record year-over-year improvement in both handle and taxable income, player spending on sports betting dropped to its lowest monthly total since July of last year during February.
 February sports betting in Massachusetts Sportsbook patrons spent a total of $628.2 million (£484.5 million/€578.5 million) in February.  This was 17.6% behind the Massachusetts betting handle for January, but it was 15.8% better than the previous year.

 According to data made public by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission Friday, March 20, online handling exceeded $618.6 million in February.  Additionally, $9.6 million in total wagers were processed by retail sportsbooks.

 The total amount of taxable gaming revenue was $65.6 million.  It was 30.5% less than the record harvest of $94.4 million in January, but it was 24.7% better than the previous February.

 To break this down, the total revenue from online betting was $65.4 million.  In Massachusetts, the retail industry accounted for $205,391 of the total monthly sum.

 The statewide percentage for hold in February was 10.44%.

 DraftKings is unstoppable in Massachusetts.
 When considering individual operators in the state, DraftKings continues to be the undisputed leader in the online market.  It reported $36 million in revenue overall, leaving an 11.36% hold on a $317 million handle.

 With $19.2 million from $167.2 million in handle, FanDuel was once again the closest competitor, holding a 11.48% hold.  With $4.7 million off $54.6 million, BetMGM finished in the top three with an 8.61% hold.

 With a monthly hold of 9.09%, Fanatics' income reached $3 million off a $33 million handle.  With $1.5 million from $22 million for a 6% hold, ESPN Bet was the only other online operator to post revenue above $1 million.

 In February, neither Caesars nor Bally Bet were able to surpass $1 million.

 With $112,272 off $1.3 million, MGM Springfield led the retail market with an 8.56% hold.  With a hold of 2.82%, Plainridge Park Casino posted $93,119 from $3.3 million.  Encore Boston, on the other hand, did not report any revenue in February.

 Revenue from land-based casinos is declining.
 Data about gaming in Massachusetts's land-based casinos is also included in the commission's monthly report.  Revenue for February was $93.4 million, which was 4.6% less than January and 7.16% less than the same month last year.

 Slot machines accounted for $63 million of this total, while table games brought in $30.4 million.

 With a total casino gaming revenue of $59.3 million, Encore Boston Harbour continues to top the market.  Plainridge Park Casino came in first place with $13.2 million, followed by MGM Springfield with $20.9 million.

 Massachusetts collected $39.6 million in gaming taxes overall in February.  This included $26.5 million from gambling at physical casinos and $13.1 million from sports betting.
