In 2024, Sweden's gaming revenue is expected to reach SEK27.85 billion.

 Growth in Sweden's commercial online gaming business drove a 2.65% year-over-year increase in gambling income in 2024.
 The total gaming revenue in Sweden for the 12 months ending December 31, 2024, was SEK27.85 billion (£2.07 billion, €2.49 billion, and $2.62 billion).  This is more than the SEK27.13 billion that Sweden reported last year.

 According to data released by the Swedish regulatory body Spelinspektionen yesterday, February 20, igaming is the most notable market in Sweden.  The overall revenue from online gaming during the 12-month period was SEK17.84 billion, which is a 5.0% increase over the 2023 figure.

 Additionally, state lottery and slot machine earnings climbed 2.2% annually to SEK5.72 billion.  Additionally, the revenue from national lotteries and non-profit games increased 2.6% to SEK3.70 billion.

 The impact of casino Cosmopol closures in Sweden is evident.
 The news was a little mixed in other areas of the market.  Restaurant casinos and other land-based commercial gambling reported a 4.0% increase in revenue to SEK237 million.

 Nevertheless, earnings from hall bingo and community games fell 3.5% to SEK196 million for the year.

 Lastly, the sector's income dropped 66.3% to SEK160 million in early 2024 as a result of the closure of multiple Casino Cosmopol land-based facilities.

 Sweden  Revenue from gambling increases 7.6% in Q4.
 The highest takings occurred during the last quarter of the year.  Overall, revenue for Q4 was SEK7.61 billion, up 14.3% from Q3 and 7.6% from the prior year.

 Once more, the largest revenue source was internet gambling, which brought in SEK4.63 billion, a 6.2% rise over the previous year.  Additionally, this number exceeds all previous quarters in 2024.

 Revenue from the state lottery and slots increased 18.5% to SEK1.71 billion, making it the sector with the fastest rate of growth.  Revenue from national lotteries and nonprofit games increased 5.2% to SEK1.13 billion.

 In Q4, revenue from land-based commercial gaming reached SEK64 million, an 8.6% increase from the previous year.  In Q4, revenue from hall bingo and community games was constant at SEK50 million.

 Is Casino Cosmopol going to permanently close?
 Casino Cosmopol had much less encouraging statistics, reporting a 66.3% decline in revenue to SEK31 million as a result of closing its double site.

 By the way, the Swedish authorities proposed in May to shut down the Casino Cosmopol company.  The last casino in Stockholm would have to close by January 1, 2026, if this proposal were accepted.

 Spelinspektionen, however, have criticised the plan, claiming that it would encourage illicit land-based gambling.
